McGAN´S has a well-stacked library and the students have the benefit of updating their knowledge on a range of subjects with the help of national and international journals, magazines, E-Resources and other periodicals.
Since its inception in 2008, the library at McGAN´S Ooty School of Architecture (MOSA) provides access to a remarkable and growing collection that cover the subjects of art, design, graphics, construction, history, culture, architectural theory, psychology, structures, environmental sciences, environmental design, urban design, town planning, interiors, landscape, housing, technology, heritage, conservation, biographies, selected works and architectural thesis.
The main function of the library is to provide resources and research support for students and faculty. Specific course-related resources are also provided by the library, such as copies of textbooks.
The library provides a quiet study space for students on campus and subscribes to various Indian and international architectural magazines and journals, in addition to other topics of extra-curricular interest.
It provides students with skills that can help them achieve success in their academic careers and in their future occupations.
Internet facility is provided to the students in the Library for online browsing. McGAN´S Library mission is to cater and support the needs towards Teaching, Learning and Research. The library functions on an open access system for faculty members and research scholars.
All standard services like acquisition, searching and lending have been computerized, for efficient access. The e-centre, an electronic repository for institutional scholarly research and academic knowledge with access to the internet, eBooks and a CD-database, provides a "gateway" for students and researchers to access various digital resources.
The McGAN´S Library has become the intellectual heart of research and teaching, by understanding the needs of users so that they benefit from library services and the ability to access information however and wherever they need, now and in the future. The librarians serve as essential partners in research and learning and collaborate with users to transform the process by which ideas are developed and communicated.
