The final year students, as a part of their Urban design studio, were expected to further their understanding of the "URBAN DESIGN" by studying significant living cities across the globe under the following subheads :-
•INTRODUCTION: Physiographical /Historical.
•CITY MORPHOLOGY: Mapping / Reading.
•URBAN DESIGN EXPRESSION
•VISUAL ELEMENTS OF URBAN DESIGN
•To become familiar with the cities of the globe and their urban design attributes across different geographical/civilization of the world.
•To become familiar with the language and vocabulary necessary for engaging in discourse and deliberations on urban design and cities.
•To learn to recognise, analyse and understand urbanity through living urban design expression within a city context.
•To understand the forces behind transformation and growth of cities.
•To be able to breakdown the visual dimensions of urban design into tangible and recognisable architectural characters.
•To learn to become sensitive towards the environmental issues concerning cities.
